Name: 386 Grinding Fluid
Type: Metal Working Fluid

Chesterton’s 386 Grinding Fluid is a full synthetic premium coolant designed to provide maximum productivity and the highest g-ratios with minimum downtime due to wheel loading, sump changeout and selective dragout of key performance additives. 386 Grinding Fluid is ideally suited for all grinding applications including the high-pressure demands of centerless grinding. It is low foaming and oil free.

Often conventional soluble oil emulsions are used throughout the shop and are also applied to grinding applications. This results in greater wheel loading than is necessary due to swarf entrapment within the oil emulsion particles. Wheels have to be dressed more frequently to restore performance. In addition, the friction generated during grinding is well in excess of typical cutting applications. It is more important than ever to have the most efficient heat transfer possible and a full synthetic accomplishes this far better than any product containing oil.

  • Fully Synthetic
  • High attainable g-ratios (metal removal/wheel loss)
  • Maximum oil demulsibility; superior rejection of tramp oil
  • Clear, transparent fluid
  • Superior heat dissipation
  • High detergency; minimizes wheel loading
  • Excellent settling of fines; provides best surface finishes
  • Biodegradable
  • Contains no mineral oil; non-misting
  • Long sump life; resists growth of bacteria and fungus
  • Easily filtered; recyclable
  • Excellent lubricity for lowest friction
