Name: 442 Split Seal
Type: Split Seal

|
Chesterton’s 442 Split Mechanical Seal construction enables the seal to handle pressures three and one-half times higher than conventional split seals. The 442 is the only split seal specifically designed to be able to withstand vacuum in the stuffing box. This makes it the ideal seal for main and auxiliary condensate pumps.
Fast, Easy Installation
The 442 provides the sealing capability of traditional mechanical seals without the need to disassemble and realign the pump. All parts are split to slip around the shaft and assemble in place. The 442 seal is a dramatic time saver with fast, easy installation, plus it can be rebuilt quickly and easily. Downtime is minimized and driver/equipment alignment is eliminated.
Main Features:
- Fast, easy installation without the need for pump disassembly.
- Specifically designed to seal in applications where stuffing box is in a vacuum.
- Fast, economical and easy rebuild of seal in the field eliminates the need for a spare seal.
- Adjustable gland fits 2, 3 or 4 bolt patterns.
