Chesterton’s 156 Single Cartridge Slurry Seal is specifically designed to handle most heavy slurries such as coal, mine tailings, ash and thick stock, without external flush.

• Narrow, monolithic, dynamic stress-relieved faces stay flat in spite of fluctuating conditions, resulting in low frictional heat.
• Low heat generation prevents the drying out of the slurry and the jamming of the seal.
• Designed to accommodate the axial motion so common in slurry pumps at start-up. As a result, the 156 seals reliably when other slurry seals suffer face opening and subsequent failure.
• Can perform reliably in all types of slurries, including abrasive particulate slurries, fibrous slurries and temperature-sensitive slurries.
