Chesterton’s Style 1600 and 1601 feature advanced construction for superior leakage control and high integrity in steam service.

Chesterton’s Style 1600 is constructed of layers of graphite tape are plied into compact strands. Each strand is reinforced with an Inconel* wire mesh covering. The strands are than square braided to form a dense yet pliable packing. It is then further enhanced with blocking agents and the packing exterior is impregnated with lubricating agents to reduce stem friction and a corrosion inhibitor to prevent pitting.

Typical applications include all control and block valves.
