FLUOROPLASTICS
Materials Temperature Range General Usage
Polyimide filled PTFE AWC 100 Cryogenic to 550°F, 287°C Dry running or low viscosity petroleum based applications on hard mating surfaces. High PV values and can be used in elevated temperatures with excellent fluid compatibility.
Virgin PTFE AWC 520 Cryogenic to 550°F, 287°C Static or slow speed applications with low abrasion resistance. Works well in vacuum and low gas permeability applications. Superior fluid compatibility and is a FDA compliant material.
Carbon/Graphite filled PTFE AWC 400, 405, 410 & 540 -250°F to 550°F, -156°C to 287°C High viscosity petroleum based applications on hard mating surfaces. High PV values, exceptional temperature rating. Excellent general purpose material for rotary applications.
Ekonol filled PTFE AWC 530 -250°F to 550°F, -156°C to 287°C High purity applications that require a combination of low gas permeability combined and improved wear resistance. Runs well against softer shaft materials.
Glass filled PTFE AWC 200 & 300 -150°F to 550°F, -101°C to 287°C High wear, high pressure and high speed applications. High PV values and can be used in elevated temperatures with excellent fluid compatibility.
Bronze filled PTFE AWC 500 -80°F to 550°F, -62°C to 287°C High load bearing applications. High wear rate, good creep resistance but is not compatible with some acids and alkalis.
ENGINEERED PLASTICS
Materials Temperature Range General Usage
UHMW-PE AWC 610, 620 & 625 Cryogenic to 180°F, Cryogenic to 82°C Abrasive, high wear, reciprocating or slow rotary applications. Excellent in water based fluids but chemical compatibility and temperature are limited.
Hytrel® AWC 600 -250°F to 300°F, -156°C to 148°C Applications requiring strong resistance to tearing, creep and abrasion.
Unfilled PEEK® AWC 630 -80°F to 400°F, -62°C to 204°C Better wear characteristics than unfilled PEEK¨.Tough, reliable and dimensionally stable even under continuous elevated temperatures.
Glass filled PEEK® AWC 635 -80°F to 450°F, -62°C to 232°C Designed for improving the wear rate of unfilled PEEK¨ in high performance applications. Tough, reliable and dimensionally stable even under continuous elevated temperatures.
Acetal AWC 650 -22°F to 220°F, -30°C to 104°C Anti-extrusion rings or medium load bearing applications. Excellent creep resistance under continuous load and fatigue endurance under repeated loading and unloading cycles.
