ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). International Standards are drafted via technical committee and then require a 75% member body vote for publication.
ISO 17025:1999 (General Requirements for the Competence of Testing Laboratories): Enables a laboratory to develop competent testing processes which demonstrate its ability to use competent staff with ethical behavior and well-defined procedures to minimize control process variation and meet customer requirements.
ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System): Enables an organization to develop an Environmental policy and establish objectives and processes which take into account legal requirements, actions needed to improve its performance and lessen its impact on the environment.
ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System): Enables an organization to develop a Quality policy and establish objectives and processes which demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and regulatory requirements, and enhances customer satisfaction and continual improvement of the system.
