Mechanical packing has been utilized in pump, valve, and similar equipment operations in one form or another since the beginning of the mechanical era. This course is designed to provide you with an in-depth look at mechanical packing and how it can be used to increase system reliability. Subjects covered: Fundamentals; Equipment in Which Packing Is Used; Compression Packing Material Composition; Methods of Construction; Manufacturing; Installation and Troubleshooting.

Provides a solid understanding of the general concepts associated with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as found in industry today, including a general understanding of the basic physics involved. Live Loading Principles I

Live loading is a process that is in use in many industrial applications today. Vibration, thermal cycling and environmental concerns have led to finding a technology that will maintain a load as well as compensate for travel. This course examines how live loading works, all the variables that affect live loading, and how it can be utilized to increase process system reliability. Subjects covered: Fundamentals; Live Loaded Equipment; Bolted Flange Joints.

Available to Chesterton Employees & Partners only:  This course teaches how to provide customers Chesterton packing solutions as they apply to pump sealing. It should be noted that these solutions apply to rotating equipment in general. The course is targeted primarily to the Chesterton global sales force including specialists and managers. Chesterton inside sales people and engineering personnel will also find this course significantly helpful to their job knowledge and performance. It is designed to give you enough knowledge about packing solutions to generate more sales and keep customers satisfied.
